Who qualifies as a Young, Beginning or Small Farmer?
- A Young Farmer or Rancher
One who is 35 years of age or younger as of the date the loan was originally made. - A Beginning Farmer or Rancher
A farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who had 10 years or less of experience at farming, ranching, or producing or harvesting aquatic products as of the date the loan was originally made. - A Small Farmer or Rancher
A farmer, rancher or producer or harvester of aquatic products who normally generated less than $250,000 in annual gross sales of agricultural or aquatic products at the date of the loan was originally made.
